Q. How Do I See Your Complete Calendar?

Q. Can Anyone Join the Film Challenges?
A. Yes, Everyone is Welcome, All Levels and Over the Age of 6, Anyone under 18 must have an Entertainment Work Permit, and a Paid Parent Accompany them at all times.
Q. I Have a SHORT FILM and I Want To Submit to MMTB
A. Submit your film to BASH- Bay Area and Sacramento Film Festival ALL YEAR. We have bi-annual Bay Area, Sac or surrounding made film festival screenings. Location may vary Submit your film CLICK HERE or go to- https://filmfreeway.com/BASHBayAreaShortFilmsFestival8
Q. What is the ACTORS MONOLOGUE Challenge?
A. Once you register you will receive a Monologue. Everyone will get the same one for each season. You will record yourself or a puppet for Voice Over Talent, preferably on a laptop, but phone is OK. Then you will submit that video prior to the deadline. It will screen during BASH and compete for best acting performance and a trophy.
Q. What is a ‘Film in a Day’ Actors, Writers, and Directors Challenge
A. Directors are assigned a date. Writers (usually 2) and Directors Meet Over Zoom Few Weeks in Advance to Hash Out Concept Based On the Actors Signed On and Location Provided. Films will be shot on the day provided 9am-7pm hard stop. All Films and Trailers Due on the 1st or 15th of The Month Following the Next Month. (ex. filmed on Feb 1st, Due on April 1st, Filmed on Feb 25th, Due on April 15th). Films made that month will screen on the next MMTB/BASH film festival screening part 1, after the deadline if it is at least 2 weeks from screening date or it will screen on the following screening season during part 1. THEY COMPETE for Best Story, Best Acting Performances and Best Overall Film (which director gets the award). Trophies and Photo Opps on Red Carpet
Q. What is a ‘Film in a Day’ Actors, Writers Feature Film Series Challenge
A. Same as our regular day challenge except the Director is always Elena Altman. Writers given criteria and work alone on one short within the theme in Advance and depending on the actors registered, will need to continue a character for all shorts in the season (usually 6 shorts that come together to make one feature film at the end). Each short will be shot on the day provided 9am-7pm hard stop. Short films will screen on the next MMTB/BASH film festival screening part 2. THEY COMPETE for Best Overall Film of the series and that film will compete in part 1 of the next BASH. After that, each episodic short will be posted on YouTube and the complete feature film will be distributed to other networks. Trophies and Photo Opps on Red Carpet
Q. What does the Executive Producer pass get for feature film challenge?
A. Executive Producers Get a 7% Profit Share once distributed and Credits for the Entire Feature Film, and credited on the short film that they register under. The pass also includes entry to the short challenge they registered under if they choose to attend.
Q. I Am NEW What Passes Do I Need:
A. You will need a 1st Timer Pass, PLUS an ACTOR, CREW, or Other Role Pass.
Q. I Am NEW Can I DIRECT or LEAD A TEAM
A. No, Sorry, You Need to Attend at LEAST One Day Film Challenge in Order to Direct, and You Will Have to Provide a Finished Short Film from Your DP that You Plan to Bring or Shot by Yourself. You Can Also Team Up with a DP Once You Join Us Enough Times That May Be Willing To Shoot For You. You or your DP must be able to edit, or have an editor signed on, however director will still be responsible for final edit, so if it is not submitted, you can be banned from directing again. You Also Have to Send a List of the Equipment You Already Have. Must Include Basic External Sound, Camera and Lights. Email That to info@mmtb.orgto get approved and pick your date. In short, if you are a triple threat director with all your equipment (shoot, edit, direct) then your chances to direct with us are higher.
Q. I Am An ACTOR, How Do I Audition?
A. There are NO AUDITIONS, You Just Register for a Challenge, Show Up, and You Get a Part Written for You. SAG Actors Can Get on a VIP Team Where the Director/Team Leader Submits for the Film in Advance to SAG and Pays for the SAG Actors Attendance. (SAG Actors, please notify us and we will put you on a list to let you know when you may be able to take the challenge with less restrictions)
Q. I Am An ACTOR, What Do I Bring, What Should I Know?
A. (Optional) You Will Be Emailed Wardrobe Requirements Few Days in Advance to Shoot Day. Bring a Few Options for Each Required Outfit. Not a Must, But Good to Have. You Will Want To Be CAMERA READY When You Arrive Including Makeup. Scripts will be given to you when you check in for shoot day. You will have time to study it and rehearse with fellow actors prior to filming.
Q. I Am A Writer, Do I Have to Physically Attend?
A. No- Attendance is Optional. There will be a 3 hour zoom meeting in advance of the shoot and then you will write on your own. However it Is Helpful When Writers Can Attend At Least First Half of The Day to Help with Rehearsals, and Script Supervising if You Stay Full Day.
Q. I Am CREW, SOUND etc , What Do I Bring, What Should I Know?
A. (Optional) You May Want To Bring any Equipment You Have to Give Your Team a Leg Up in the Challenge, Cameras, Sound, Laptop, Your Favorite Mug etc.. Whatever Will Make You Stand Out, and HELP OUT! But You don’t Need Anything But a Willingness to HELP Wherever is Needed. ALL HANDS ON DECK! If you sign on as a Sound Person or any other specific job title, you will be required to have your own equipment for that role or have prior professional experience in that area.

Q. What if I am UNDER 18
A. Everyone is Welcome Over the Age of 6, Anyone under 18 must have an ENTERTAINMENT Work Permit, and a Paid Parent Accompany them at all times.
Q. Do I Need a Valid ID/Passport? What else will I need?
A. YES. If you only have a passport, you will be required to bring a piece of official mail like utilities, government etc with your full name and address on it. If you have no ID, you will be asked to leave with no refunds.
